It's been a big week for Lace and the start of something bigger.
Yesterday, our latest iOS update began rolling out with Mobile 2.1. Today, Lace 2.2 arrives on the browser extension with our biggest hardware wallet release yet.
Both updates are the opening chapters of Your Keys. Your Way. Our ongoing commitment to giving you more ways to secure what you own. Over the coming weeks, you'll see this promise show up again and again: in new hardware integrations, in open-source air-gapped options, in independent security validation, and in features designed to make advanced security approachable for everyone.
The idea behind it is simple.
The best wallet isn't one that tells you how to secure your assets. It's one that gives you the freedom to choose.
Whether you keep your keys in Lace itself or secure them with a hardware wallet device like Ledger, Trezor or SeedSigner, Lace is designed to support the way you want to manage your crypto.
Because your wallet should adapt to you, not the other way around.
Bitcoin, secured your way
If you use a Ledger or Trezor to manage your Bitcoin, Lace now makes that experience even easier.
With Lace 2.2, you can import Bitcoin accounts from your hardware wallet and sign transactions directly with your device, all while managing your existing native assets from the same application.
There's no need to jump between different applications or compromise on security. Your private keys are secured by the hardware wallet you trust.
Simple, familiar and built for self-custody.
More ways to protect your assets
Security looks different for everyone.
Some people prefer the convenience of a USB hardware wallet. Others want an entirely air-gapped setup.
That's why Lace now supports SeedSigner.
Using animated QR codes, you can sign both ada and Bitcoin transactions without ever plugging your signing device into your computer. This makes Lace the first Cardano wallet to support SeedSigner. It is a fully open-source, air-gapped signing device built from off-the-shelf components, designed around the idea of independent custody. Not just open code, but a setup you can source, build and verify yourself. Cardano support for SeedSigner was made possible through Project Catalyst. We'll be sharing more about that story soon.

More than hardware wallet support
Lace 2.2 isn't just about new devices.
It's about making everyday wallet management smoother, safer and more intuitive.
Here's what's new:
- Bitcoin support for Ledger and Trezor hardware wallets.
- Air-gapped signing with SeedSigner using animated QR codes.
- Option to delegate directly to the protocol governance options, Abstain or No Confidence.
- More display currencies with an improved currency selection experience.
- Rewards you’re about to withdraw are now shown when de-registering a stake key.
Behind the scenes, we've also made improvements that you'll notice every time you use Lace.
Transaction building is smarter, helping transactions complete more reliably even when wallets become more complex.
Performance has also been improved throughout the extension, with faster loading, more accurate token pricing, better hardware wallet guidance and a smoother dApp experience.
Mobile keeps moving too
This week's momentum builds directly on Mobile 2.1, which brought a number of features the community has been asking for, including:
- Banxa on-ramp
- CardanoCube integration
- In-app swaps
- Ledger and Trezor support for Cardano
- Token sorting
- Contacts in Send
- A new network information card in the Staking Center
- Bitcoin pending balances for unconfirmed transactions
- Expanded DRep ID support for CIP-95 signing
With Ledger and Trezor now supported on both desktop and mobile, the same trusted security follows you wherever you use Lace. Both iOS and Android apps will be updated to Lace 2.2 shortly, bringing full version parity with the browser extension.

Every release brings Lace a little closer to the wallet we set out to build.
A wallet that's secure without being intimidating, powerful without feeling complicated and flexible enough to support the way you choose to manage your digital assets.
This is just the beginning. In the weeks ahead, we'll be introducing SeedSigner in more depth, sharing results from an independent security audit, and adding another widely used air-gapped device as a secure signing option. Each one builds on the last, all part of the same story.
Whether that's Bitcoin on a Ledger, Cardano on a Trezor or a setup with SeedSigner, the choice is yours.
